Adoptables photo shoot Aug 2025

I had the privilege to photograph a group of dogs that are looking for a family to love.

My friend Evelyne routinely sends her rescues to Canada and good photos help to get people interested in adopting them.

We drove to Puerto Morelos, a town South of Cancun. It was a muggy day, I was soaking wet on my own sweat and felt a bif woozy from dehydration but I got to meet and photograph a bunch of lovely dogs.

Sometimes it is hard to photograph rescue dogs because very often they have been abused by people so they don't readily trust strangers.  Usually the best way is to spend some time with each dog before the photo session but when there are several dogs that can be difficult.

While I was shooting Carla helped to wrangle the dogs and helped holding the light reflector. She really makes things easier for me and I always appreciate and enjoy when she is able to join me.

Please consider purchasing from my store or becoming a member so I can keep offering my services to help deserving dogs find the perfect families for them.

Street dog in pain is too afraid to let me near

A street dog had been in pain for several days but he was too scared to let his rescuers get close. It took patience, lots of treats and finally the involvement of the community to be able to catch him. In life we always have the choice to ignore those in need, or to care and make a positive impact in the world. Be it a dog rescue or simply giving a smile to a stranger, we can make the world a better place.

Facing the challenges of 2025

2023 was a truly heart breaking year.  We were also reaching a point of exhaustion both mentally and physically.  We had been focused on helping others and somehow we forgot to take care of ourselves.

2024 was a year of taking stock and of revising our priorities.  Although we are still committed to helping others, we are also taking care of ourselves.  We started eating healthier, working out and visiting our doctor. By the end of the year we were doing great progress and we were pretty satisfied with our choices.

2025 has proving to be a challenging year for my mental health so far.  We had been able to live a drama free life in 2024 but it seems that this year had other plans.

I will try to remain positive and continue working on self care.

Hoping that 2025 is treating you kindly and if it’s not the case, hope that you find a community or the support that you need.

If you ever need to talk to someone you can always reach out to me :-)
